Food For Thought: LAUGH A LOT

Just incase you need more reason to hang out with the people who make you giggly, I’ll give you one.

You know that feeling of laughing so hard your abs hurt?!
Well a study has looked at the effects of a solid laugh on your health… and found that there’s a pretty strong parallel between moderate exercise and “mirthful laughter”.

Laughter helps improve mood, reduces stress hormones (cortisol and catecholamines) and reduces your risk of heart disease. It’s also been found to enhance immune system function and may lower cholesterol and blood pressure.

Unfortunately this doesn’t mean that a comedy show is a replacement for cardio…. you should still get your tug-o-war on at the beach this 4th.

What it does mean is that laughter seems to impact the body in the same way that repetitive exercise does - and this is a really interesting finding for people with decreased appetite due to chronic diseases/depression/anxiety, who are unable to work out,or are just getting older and frailer. So as your momma always said, laughter is the best medicine… And as it TURNS OUT, I have just the way to get you to chuckle! Check out my pops’ site, Funniest Jokester!!

Upload your favorite joke and get your friends and coworkers and frenemies to vote on it and
you’re entered in a competition to win lotsa moolah, just for being your charming self.

And with that i’ll leave you with my current favorite…. Yo mama’s so stupid she tried to put her m&m’s in alphabetical order. HAAAA.
